June Newsletter
The June 2025 BN Bulletin highlights a vibrant month for Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, showcasing community engagement and charitable initiatives. The fundraiser gig in May, featuring free entertainment from The Crows and DJ Moo, raised £4,000 to combat hygiene poverty. Meanwhile, Team Tuesday was busy distributing 165 Father’s Day gifts to children via six charities and schools, most crafted by their Sewing Bees. Prom Packs were also a major focus, with 200 kits containing hygiene essentials delivered to schools and youth centres, thanks to support from ambassador Tiffany at Amelia Knight.

Local toiletry bank charity Bare Necessities has helped hundreds of young people across Wilmslow and Cheshire celebrate Mother’s Day by providing special gift packs for their mums or mother figures.
In the run-up to Mothering Sunday, more than 500 Mother’s Day packs were distributed to 10 schools and youth charities. This means that children and teenagers living in households affected by hygiene poverty were able take part in the celebration and show appreciation for the important women in their lives.
Diane Smith, Trustee at Bare Necessities, said, “The new Joseph Rowntree Foundation report has 7.7 million children growing up without the resources they need and unable to fully participate in society. It’s easy to see how much of a struggle day to day life is let alone adding celebrations into the mix.
In our special project packs, we’re distributing a touch of joy for our lovely mothers to spoil themselves with – this is one small way we can redress the balance, improving children’s mental health and well-being along the way.“
Each pack was placed in a drawstring bag handmade by our wonderful volunteers, affectionately known as the BN Sewing Bees and some of the products included in the packs were donated by local, private label beauty company Amelia Knight.
If you can help make someone’s day in the future whether its Father’s day or helping with Prom Packs, which are coming up, please pick up an extra toiletry or make up treat in your shopping. Place unused and unopened items in our boxes, locations can be found on the website.

Help us end hygiene poverty for good.
What can you do?
