June Newsletter

The June 2025 BN Bulletin highlights a vibrant month for Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, showcasing community engagement and charitable initiatives. The fundraiser gig in May, featuring free entertainment from The Crows and DJ Moo, raised £4,000 to combat hygiene poverty. Meanwhile, Team Tuesday was busy distributing 165 Father’s Day gifts to children via six charities and schools, most crafted by their Sewing Bees. Prom Packs were also a major focus, with 200 kits containing hygiene essentials delivered to schools and youth centres, thanks to support from ambassador Tiffany at Amelia Knight.

Bare Necessities Help 200 Local Teenagers Celebrate Prom, in Style!

Imagine the worry if money is tight and you are struggling to afford a prom dress or suit never mind the make-up, aftershave and hair stuff that teenagers desire, many children just can’t afford to go to Prom.

At Bare Necessities, with donations from our supporters and the very generous Amelia Knight and their Glow Hub skin care brand, we have provided 200 Prom packs to our partner charities at youth centres and schools.

Essentials such as deodorant and shower gel were provided alongside hair and make-up products all packed into a hand-sewn re-usable bag to help the teens prepare for the big night.

A teacher at a local Senior School emailed her thanks for the bags:
“The Year 11s will be so thrilled with their amazing Prom packs. They will help some of our more disadvantaged children feel part of what many of our teenagers take for granted. Thank you!”

Bare Necessities is incredibly grateful for all the support in donating products and raising much needed funds for our Wilmslow based charity. We hope to continue growing our friendly and supportive community and accept donations of toiletries and make-up in our donation boxes, we need all full-size, everyday toiletries, feminine hygiene products, dental and baby products as well as hotel and beauty miniatures. The only proviso is that they must be unopened and unused. Donation Bin locations can be found on the website.

Help us end hygiene poverty for good.

What can you do?
