June Newsletter
The June 2025 BN Bulletin highlights a vibrant month for Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, showcasing community engagement and charitable initiatives. The fundraiser gig in May, featuring free entertainment from The Crows and DJ Moo, raised £4,000 to combat hygiene poverty. Meanwhile, Team Tuesday was busy distributing 165 Father’s Day gifts to children via six charities and schools, most crafted by their Sewing Bees. Prom Packs were also a major focus, with 200 kits containing hygiene essentials delivered to schools and youth centres, thanks to support from ambassador Tiffany at Amelia Knight.

Meet Claire Acton, neighbour and great friend to Bare Necessities. It seems impossible to believe that just a few short weeks ago she didn’t even know how to thread her machine! Now look at her go, hand crafting beautiful bags for our women’s pamper packs which are in huge demand just now. Thank you so much Claire, these bags are so well received and make the pack extra special to know someone cares enough to make them.

She says “I am loving being part of this amazing local charity ! Making fabric bags is my contribution and I am grateful for everyone who has donated fabric and ribbon/ cord for me to use, including my friend Helen and my sister Jane. Also the owner of Patchfinders in Poynton Claire Milner, many thanks for the fabulous fabrics you gave me. I’ve made over 30 bags so far and on a mission to keep going !”
Help us end hygiene poverty for good.
What can you do?
